Show DISTRICT COURT IS Mil SESSION District court met in regular session here Tuesday at 2 p. m. There were present at the opening Judge Thos. H. Burton, Dist. Atty. G. H. Lunt, W. M. Keller, court reporter, re-porter, LeRoy H. Cox, county attorney, attor-ney, Wilford Goff, sheriff and William Wil-liam Brooks, clerk. H. R. Bentley acted as bailiff. Resolutions commemorative of the life and character of Thomas Mario-neaux, Mario-neaux, former judge, were read and ordered spread upon the minutes. The calendar was called ,and cases were set, or otherwise disposed of, as follows: Sidney Thompson was arraigned on a statutory charge, and on motion of his attorney, he was given until Wednesday Wed-nesday to plead, at which time he entered en-tered a plea of "not guilty." State of Utah vs. Victor Hail, on a statutory charge, was set for hearing April 19th, at 10 a. ni. State of Utah vs. A. G. Anderson, contributing to delinquency of a minor, two cases. On account of the absence of a state witness the cases were continued for the term. State of Utah vs. George Pappas and John Z. Harris, grand larceny. Case continued for the term, on application ap-plication of defendants' attorney. Several cases were taken up on motion and demurrer, or were set for hearing. It was decided not to call the jury until Monday, April 19. Case of John M. Pulsipher vs. William Wil-liam E. Chinn, was argued on demurrer, de-murrer, by Attorneys Shay for the plaintiff and Hancock and Foster for defendants and intervenors. Margie Johnson of Springdale was granted a divorce from Charles D. Johnson; no alimony was allowed. Mrs. Elsie E. Flesher was granted a districe judge deed to lots 1 and 2 in block 6, plat A of Toquerville townsite. The Court ordered the bond of Charles Sullivan forfeited, for failure to appear in Court, on a liquor charge. Thursday being Arbor day, the Court adjourned Wednesday evening to Friday morning. |
