Show Sirup From Watermelon! Watermelons instead of cane will be the raw material used in a new Russian sirup factory recently established estab-lished at Stalingrad, formerly Tzarlt-ziu, Tzarlt-ziu, on Ihe Volga. The product Is known as "nardek." It has long been made by a crude hand process, and is so popular that beekeeping has practically prac-tically disappeared from the region where It is used. The better grades of the sirup are used In cooking or confectionery, and the poorer grades In the manufacture of alcohol. |
