Show DIXIE COLLEGE The Brighani Young I'niversity concert chorus gave a very well prepared program before students and townspeople at the Tabernacle Taber-nacle last Friday night. The largo audience was very appreciative apprec-iative of the brilliant and varivd numbers. ' The Ladies' Chorus was featured, featur-ed, but other numbers were presented pre-sented by the mixed chorus, the male quartet and several soloists. Miss Mary McGregor, a Dixie student who attended the B. Y. U. last year, was featured hi one of the solo numbers, "The Swis-i Echo Song." Assisting the chorus were Miss Maurine Romney, violinist: Miss Lethe Coleman, dramatic reader; and Miss Tess Packard. solo dancer. Each of these numbers was very well rendered. The concert was under I he direction di-rection of Dr. Franklin Madsen und Dr. Florence Jepperson Mad-sen. Mad-sen. The girls of the Anicia club entertained their mothers last Friday afternoon in tho Dixie auditorium. A short program wus given, after which light refreshments re-freshments were served. Each mother was presented with a beautiful chrysanthemum us a token of love and respect from the girls. Education week was featured In general assembly lust Thursday. Thurs-day. Lawrence Wadsworth was the speaker; his topic was "New-Frontiers." "New-Frontiers." His message was vital and the students appreciated the talk very much. Tuesday's assembly was given by the students In the vicinities County. Assemblies In the near future of Leeds. Washington, and Kane are: Nov. 16, student body; Nov 21. Geographical unit program by Santa Clara and New liar mony; Nov. 2S. Lyceum number in the Tabernacle, featuring Mary Atkln Hansen in vocal concert; Nov. 29. Thanksgiving program, under the direction of the student stu-dent body. This is parents' visiting week at the college. Parents who have not come in are cordially invited to visit the school while it is in session. Plans are being completed this week for the beginning of the student relief work program under un-der the P. W. A. It is likely that some of the work will be under way this week-end. |
