| Show meets on ED WA A district organization A Uintah Basin Association of Governments meeting was held in the Uintah County courthouse Monday to begin the planning and organization necessary to form a Economic Development Act EDA District under the U. U S Department of Commerce Economic Development Ad Administration ministration guidelines representatives from from Uintah Duchesne and Daggett counties were present to hear details and have questions answered by Pill dill Bivens consultant for Edman and Associates who has been hired to draw up an overall Economic Development Program for Uintah county and help get EDA authorization for tor the three county district AT Ar THE TIIE Monday meeting it was agreed that the elected representation for the grassroots development committee would number 12 four Cour from Crom each county including two from county officials one from Crom city and one from school board Other committee members would be chosen by bythe bythe bythe the 12 members from minority groups and representatives required by the development act The purpose of forming an anEDA anEDA anEDA EDA district is to bring into one cooperative unit both lagging and economically healthy counties plus an urban growth center the ne necessary essary economic strength and growth potential to raise the employment employment em level and income of the entire district Most federal funding would be channeled through the EDA district distri t for financial assistance in development areas needed when energy development impact occurs in the district |
