Ralphs 4 H hog project leader and Wm Robinson 4 H 4 H sheep project leader met with them I Strand brought the tags to tag the sheep and pi pigs There were 22 sheep weighed and 4 hogs All tt i weighed will be able to reach the required 90 pounds by fair time if weight increases continue A few of the members didn't weigh their their animals today If all lambs scheduled l I at ace eligible l g f there will be 00 30 4 lambs entering the lair fair t lr There There j are eight pig projects Members parents and some some som grandparents attended the weighing of the t animals Manila Church is sponsoring a day of activities on onI I Pioneer Day July 24 This day dayI L I will fall on Saturday this year There will be a dinner and games and races at the KOA TilE THE DAGGETT County Historical Trek held June Jun 26 was very well attended with ov over over r 50 persons there from Green Riper Roer Rock Springs Sprin Point of Rocks Pinedale Wyoming Salt Lake City and Dutch John and a couple from Ft Worth Texas About half of the group was from the Sweetwater County Historical Society who were brought to the trek by Henry Chadney head of Sweetwater County museums Special guests were four persons from the Dutch John Forest Service Many of the people made a mile mlle round trip-some trip across the swinging bridge and over others Mountain Diamond from Dutch John over the east eastside eastside eastside side and through Rock Springs The group met at the Browns Brown's Park School House Hous at 10 a am m. m Eleen Williams gave a history of Smelter Ranch and coke ovens From the schoolhouse they drove to Greystone Colorado which has a population n of two people then to the coke ovens ovens and the Smelter Ranch They returned to the Boyd Walker Ranch for lunch During the afternoon some went to see the Indian in Bull Canyon and the upper part of Browns Brown's Park Mrs Williams told a little of the history of f Bull Canyon Alma Sweetwater County was in Manila twice this week to aid the home economics H 4 members members' with their demon demon- Next Sunday the Sunday School program will b be a July 4 program This will be presented by both junior j and senior Sunday School Mr and Mrs Dean Cook and three children have returned to Manila from Venezuela South America for a two month vacation before being transferred transferred transferred tran tran- to Singapore China The Cooks have been in Venezuela f for r two years where Cook was employed by Loffland Drilling Company Cook is the son of Mr and Mrs Tom Cook of Manila Sj and r s Robinson of Las Vegas Nevada are are visiting Hustons Huston's parents the William Robinsons friends and other relatives in Manila Mr and Mrs Robinson and children of Rock Springs were with them this weekend The weather has been fair this week in Manila except for wind every afternoon JOHN JOliN TINKER who has been hospitalized in Rock RockSprings RockSprings Springs Sprin has been released and andis is home at work again Some rain ran Thursday did not keep the ML Homemakers from enjoying enjoying enjoying en en- their annual picnic at the Sheep Creek Campground There were 10 members and seven children present to enjoy the fried chicken dinner It packages were Yere won by Ora Iverson Joan Ralphs and Mary |
