Show Lori McNeill bags around all-around honors at state rodeo finals The Uintah Basin High School Rodeo Club with only ten members at the state finals in lieber Heber captured first place team honors last Saturday Lori Lorl McNeill garnered all around cowgirl honor She nabbed four saddles with first places in cow cutting breakaway roping goat tying t ing and in the all around cowgirl contest LORI MCNEILL won the cow cutting with points She also roped her last calf in to win the breakaway title McNeill's time in the goat tying contest was Her combined time inthe in inthe inthe the breakaway roping was was seconds Her best time in breakaway roping was A second place in one go of oC the barrel racing was nabbed by Lori McNeill She also placed d sixth with John Holmes in one onego onego onego go of the team roping event Brenda Durfee placed third in inthe inthe inthe the breakaway roping with an average of 1870 She also competed in breakaway roping calf roping team roping and goat tying Tracy Durfee nabbed fourth place in the barrel racing event with an average of 1125 She also competed In goat tying lying team roping and breakaway roping BRETT andRick and andRick andRick Rick Massey captured third In team roping The two team ropers also nabbed third place in the second go Jana Wilkins placed second in inthe inthe inthe the barrel racing event She also competed in the pole bending event Duane Allen placed fifth in the bull riding Allen captured first place in the second go of the bull riding event with a 64 score Other Uintah Basin High School students who competed in the rodeo at Heber were Robert lvie Ivie bull riding calf roping and Robert Haight calf ropi roping The Uintah Basin High School Rodeo Club will be sending Lori McNeill Brenda Durfee Tracy Durfee Dunce Jana Wilkins Brett and Rick Massey to the National High School Rodeo Championships which are slated August 17 1 at Sulphur La Vernal had eight of ten members advanced to the finals last Saturday Lori McNeill Rick Massey Duane Allen Brett John Holmes Brenda Durfee Tracy Durfee and Jana Wilkins were in the finals |
