Show tl 61 wheat crop quotas mailed official notices of farm al lot ments for the tha 1001 wheat crop are being mailed to far mers mer according to lyle taylor vernal office manager county couney agricultural stabilize tion and conservation office most of the allotments differ only slightly lightly from 1060 1960 crop a allotments allot Ilot menti ments since the national acreage allotment remains remand at the minimum 59 53 million acres which has ha been in effect tor for the past 6 years the farm allotments lot are based primarily on past wheat production pio p history the office manager points out that all growers grower who will produce more than 19 15 acres of wheat as grain in 1961 will be eligible to cast ballots in the july 21 referendum on marketing quotas for the 1081 1901 wheat crop growers who will have smaller acre ages and those who are taking part in the feed wheat program are not eligible to cast ballots since the wheat from such farms would not be subject to marketing quota penalties the referendum will decide important questions tor for wheat producers mr taylor said and the outcome naturally will represent the will of those growers who take the trouble to cast their ballots it if at least two thirds of the growers who vote approve the quotas then they will be in effect for or the th 1901 1961 wheat crop marketing penalties will a apply P ply to the lex excess cess wheat of growers who do not comply with their farm allotments and price support will be available at not less leas than 75 percent of parity the exact level to be announced soon it if more than one third of the voters oppose the quotas there will be no quotas or penalties for the 1061 1961 wheat crop and price support will be available at 50 percent of parity as aa directed by law allotments lot ments will remain in effect ps as a condition co of price support eligibility growers who like to ta make their own decisions should remember that date thursday july 21 and be sure to register their opinions by voting at the local polling place |
