thursday and friday spoke at the rotary club and were honored at a reception armr at mr andars and mrs C 11 hendersons thursday evening of last week mr henderson enderson II is chairman of the two groups THE VERNAL meeting was the first of a series by the state groups in which they will hold meetings in various I 1 areas of the state to aid them in inspecting the mineral po the state officials inspected exchange lands in dinosaur national monument flaming gorge land withdrawals and visited the phosphate development and other areas leading the tours were state sen D B 11 II chas J neal and government the chairman also pointed out ut that an agreement was worked out with the national park service to exchange lands in dinosaur national monument for federal lands outside AGREEMENT also was reached with the national forest and the bureau of land ladd management for an ex change of land involved in flaming gorge dam withdrawal mr henderson enderson II pointed out that only surface land ex changes were made and did not include minerals A section was retained on the green river below the dam on the clearwater side for commercial and recreational development THE STATE visitors ex pressed amazement at the quantities of minerals located in the basin and at the poten bial development through fla ming G gorge orge project at the rotary meeting governor clyde said he would discuss death and taxes because of their universal interest lie ile said he was consider ing the possibility of cree creating a new agency to combat death on the highway and criticized the present cumbersome sometimes unfair processes of law time destroys import ant factors he commented referring to taxes he complained we are now paying through the nose for previous penny pinching administrations ile he
