Show Jensen Gladys Peterson Phone 789-1945 1 3 Family travels through Northwestern North-western states Mr. and Mrs. Meril Snow and their daughter's family, the Stephan Haites of Vernal, traveled through the Northwest Nor-thwest states last week. They stopped in Montana to visit the Brian O'Toole's, then into Canada. They returned home Friday. The Jack Ruppes motored to Salt Lake City on business Monday, returning retur-ning the same day. They also took his mother, Mrs. Reva Ruppe, with them. Marba took Mr. and Mrs. Nile Ainge to Meeker for a medical checkup Monday. Ryan Ainge, son of the Morgan Ainges, traveled to Angwin, Calif., with his grandmother, Mrs. Myrna Banner. She took him to see the ocean and other fun things to do for a boy his age. He returned home Saturday. ' Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Powell received " word that their son-in-law, Brian O'Toole, was ordained an elder ' Sunday. Angie Ainge, daughter of the Morgan Ainges, celebrated her fifth birthday Tuesday. She had a small group of friends to help her celebrate. They enjoyed the decoration theme of Strawberry Shortcake. After games were played the group gathered around a strawberry pinata that was filled with goodies. After Angie opened open-ed her gifts, they enjoyed cupcakes and ice cream. A group of excited Scouts left Sunday Sun-day to attend their annual Camp Mapledale. They will be gone a week and will work on assorted merit badges. They are hoping for good weather. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tiffany and two children, Adam and Sarah, from Angwin, Calif., visited in Jensen Tuesday. Tues-day. Paul is a brother to Vicky Ainge. They came down to attend the birthday birth-day party for Angie. Mrs. Tiffany, La Von, has been in Vernal the past few weeks visiting with her mother. Paul arrived a few days ago bringing Brian Ainge home and to take his wife and family home. The American Gilsonite employees of the maintenance department were honored for having worked one thousand thou-sand days without a lost time accident. A luncheon was served to them at which time they also received certificates cer-tificates and caps to honor their achievement. Those from Jensen and Bonanza thus honored by the company were Dennis Sharp, Fran Peterson, Pete Rogers, Glen Turnbow, Richard Current, Albert Andrews and Robert Minner. The baton group of Jensen, taught by Jennifer Wilkens, took first place at the Dinosaur Rodeo Parade last Saturday. Jennifer has four different groups of younsters ranging from 4 years to eleven. The groups were a flashy sight as they marched by in their bright red, purple, blue and pink fringed Indian style outfits, twirling their batons all the way while they kept in step. - V it t' - I - J'-m ' . -- : I 7 ' 1 v I : , - ; r - 7 J ' l' - M DONNA ROBERTS from Xi Alpha Xi chapter of Beta Sigma Pi presents a set of social studies film strips and cassettes to Wally Goddard, media director at Uintah High School.The club has undertaken the Uintah High School media as their service project. Has anyone in our area seen a moose running around? Last Tuesday a young couple hit a large animal that had run in front of their car by the Auer Warren and Fran Peterson places. They hit it about 5 a.m. and described it as being very big and dark. It jumped the fence and headed north. If anyone spots an injured animal of this description, contact the Highway Patrol. The cat work has been started clearing clear-ing trees at the Jensen Park site. It will take them awhile, but when it is cleared, then more progress will get underway.
