County departments that will 1 relocate include the county commis-sion commis-sion office and a new office will be built for the county attorney. The Uintah County Sheriff's office will also be in the new building. The third floor of the building, which will be entirely for county use, will be built initially only as a shell, leaving op- tions open to use it as more space is needed. The purpose for building the third foor is that the space is relatively relative-ly inexpensive, and the additional room will allow for future growth. Plans for the complex also include a new jail, which has not yet been bid. The jail will be built where two old tennis ten-nis courts now stand. The Uintah County Commissioners said they hope to release the jail for bidding soon, in order that both structures can be completed about the same time. This will allow everyone to move out of the present courthouse at the same time and allow rennovation to begin on that building. The present courthouse will be totally total-ly remodeled to allow all departments which will stay in the present facility facili-ty more room and better accommodations. Along with the parking on the west side of 100 East, additional parking will be made on the east side of 100 East, making 45 degree angle parking. The present sidewalk will be removed remov-ed and the road widened by about 7 feet, to the base of the existing trees. The sidewalk will then be made on the east side of the trees. In order to address concerns of citizens about the possible unattrac-tiveness unattrac-tiveness of the entire complex, the Uintah Uin-tah County Commissioners' plan includes in-cludes extensive greenery and trees around the entire area. A natural barrier bar-rier will be made along the east edge Continued on page 3 County Bldg... All of the Uintah County Commissioners Commis-sioners have said they are pleased with the way the project has turned out, and being able to secure the needed need-ed parking. Projected completion of the new building and jail is the end of the summer of 1984.
