Show Macscr Eloise Alien Parker Phone 789-2178 v Couple celebrate 50 married years Nephi and Hazel Atwood celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Satur-day, Feb. 19 with all four of their sons and families present for the big happening. happen-ing. They have 22 grandchildren. Three of their sons live in Vernal, Duane and Judy Atwood and seven children live in Pleasant Grove. Mrs. Keith (Eloise) Adams and her grandson Brett of Roosevelt and her father Wallace Caldwell came by Thursday Thurs-day afternoon to visit Eloise and Johnny Parker. Robert Lewis Parker of Riverton, Wyo. died near Altamont on Feb. 20. His wife Bonnie Snarr Parker is a former resident of Vernal, and she is a sister of Mrs. DeLeon (Sandy) Slade of Maeser. Lewis had three stepsons, Shayne Barlow 22 and married, Scott Barlow 20 and Steve Barlow 18: two sons Chad Parker 9 and Casey Parker 6. His funeral was in Riverton, Wyo. Thursday, February 24. DeLeon and Sandy Slade and family of Vernal and Mrs. Evelyn Snarr, Bonnie, and Sandy, mother from Salt Lake City attended the funeral. Mrs. Snarr plans to stay with Bonnie for a week or two. Wallace Caldwell is spending a week in Logan with his daughter Barta and husband Don Sheffer. While there he plans to have a medical checkup. Charlie Palmer had to have surgery recently at Ashley Valley Medical Center. He is at home now. Robert and Kathy (Caldwell) Nelson and five children from Rexburg, Idaho spent the recent holiday weekend with Kathy's parents, Gay and Margaret Caldwell. Robert teaches fine arts at Ricks College in Rexburg. Mrs. Lloyd (Bertha) Richards is a patient pa-tient in the St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City. Graveside services were held Saturday Satur-day for Donny Orme Hacking, infant son of Brent and Cherry Orme Hacking of Dhaharan, Saudi Arabia. Mr. and Mrs. Max Orme and son Alden and daughter Vickie from Nephi came out for the services. ser-vices. Donny was the grandson of Grant and Mildred Hacking. Walt and Ann Burginer and three daughters, Beckie, Sheely, and Ashley from Pleasant Grove, spent last weiend wilh Gerald and Kay Stewart. Th also visiled Garth and Linda WM'y. Dave (Brcnda) Cook gave a miscellaneous shower at her home last week for Ann Carroll. Approximately 20 guests attended. Mrs. Helen Denny of Orange, Calif, is visiting al the home of her daughter Mrs. Wynn Mansfield. Elder Brett Heckslead, son of Roger and Marten Heckstead, will return from his mission March 12. He has been serving serv-ing in the Boston, Mass. Mission for 111 months. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mansfield of Vernal, Ver-nal, Mr. and Mrs. Marc Mansfield and two daughters from Fort Collins, Colo, and Mrs. and Mrs. La Von Atwood from Altamont spent the weekend in Cheyenne, Wyo. at the home of Mrs. and Mrs. Leon Mansfield and family. Leon was made Bishop of Cheyenne 1th Ward. Leon and Gloria and their six children moved to Cheyenne about four months ago from Manhattan, Kan. Wells and Janet Hall have a new baby son born February 27 weighing 8 lbs V '-i o. He will be named Casey Wells Hall. Grandparents are Dee Ashby and Alice Hall, great grandparents are Philip and Thora Hall, and great grandparents are Frank and Khoda Thurston of High Park. Maternal grandparents are Kenneth and Savanna Baker. Great grandparents are Jesse and Ireta Baker all of Logan. Great grandparents are Lenard and Edith Shumway of Thermopoles, Wyo. David and Ilina Turner have moved into in-to their new home in Davis Ward. They had a son Dec. 29, weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and will be named Lucas Marshall Turner. Grandparents are Dan and Phyllis Turner and Larson and Lucille Caldwell. Great grandmother is Mrs. Edith Gale. Doris Mott's brother Lynn Slaugh from Houston, Texas spent last weekend visiting family and friends in Vernal. Lynn is employed by Shell Oil Development Develop-ment in Houston. An eight day cruise was taken recently recent-ly by Dan and Phyllis turner, Dale and Lois Dahms, Elwayne and Sheryl Gale, Clyde and Colleen Gale, Max and Joyce Kasmussen, Woody B. and Vonetta Searle, Randy and Vickie Searle and Rhett and Toni Searle. They took a plane from Salt Lake City to Puerto Rico where they boarded the Cuhnard Princess ship for the cruise to Venezuella and then they toured the Virgin Islands. Woody B. and Vonetta Searle were the tour directors. |
