Show Uintah vo hosv Orem The Uintah Utes owned a 24 to 21 lead after two quarters of action in a game with Mountain View Jan. 19 in Orem, but two points in the third quarter and seven points in the fourth quarter doomed the Utes' bid for a win as they were downed by the Bruins, 43 to 33. Mountain View grabbed a 12 to 8 lead in the first quarter, but the Utes rallied for a 24 to 21 lead when they outscored the Bruins, 16 to 9. Mountain View scored only five points in the third quarter, but Uintah only put in two counters and the game was tied up at 26-26. Mountain View outscored Uintah, 17 to 7, in the fourth quarter to win the game by ten points. Uintah was led in the game by Jeff Drollinger with 16 points on eight field goals and Brian McNamara popped in nine points. Cary Hamilton and Doug Bowen tossed in four points. The Utes put in 16 field goals and hit 1 out of 7 free throws. Mountain View's top scorer was 7 footer Pollard at 14 points. Rasmussen put in 12 points. Also scoring for the Bruins were: Peterson, 8; Jolley, 5 and Anderson 4. The Bruins tossed in 16 field goals and hit 11 out of 17 free throws. Orem toppled American Fork 64 to 46 and Timpview bombed Pleasant Grove, 102-71, Jan. 19. Orem was led by Faldmo at 18 and Mackay, 17. American Fork's top scorer was Gunter at 16 counters. American Fork thumped Pleasant Grove, 74 to 54 and Orem upset Mountain View,, 53-49. Provo nipped Timpview, 47-45, Friday. Uintah had a bye. Provo is in first place in Region 7 at 5-0 and Mountain View, Orem and Timpview are tied for second at 3-2. American Fork is in fifth place at 3-3. Uintah is in sixth place at 1-4 and Pleasant Grove is in seventh place at 0-5. Provo was led in the win over Timp view by Johnson with 18 points and Clark at 12 points. Timpview's top point gainers were Farnsworth at 15 and Ross at 12. Orem's top scorers in the win over Mountain View were Lamoreaux and Butler at 12 points and Palmer at 11 and Faldmo at 10. Rasmussen led Mountain View with 14 points and Pollard scored 12 counters. Gunter ripped the hoop for American Fork with a 33 point performance. He put in 12 field goals and was 9 for 9 at the foul line. Wellman put in 16 points and Vest scored 11 points. Pleasant Grove was led by Norman and Brown at 12 points. The Uintah Utes will take on Provo Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and will battle Timpview Jan. 28 on the road. Uintah will host Orem, Feb. 2. |
