Youngsters from throughout the Uintah Basin competed in the meet. T Cwlb)ys (met Christy Wilkins, Cricket Allen and Michelle Mathis pocketed all-around titles in the Youth Rodeo sponsored by the Uintah Basin Cowgirls, Friday in Vernal at the Uintah County Fairgrounds. Wilkins nabbed the up to five year old all-around crown and was presented a hat and halter. Allen was named as the all-around winner from 6 year old to 12 year old and won a bridle bri-dle and head stall. Mathis was awarded award-ed a saddle blanket as the 13-18 year old all-around winner. First place in the barrels up to five years old and in pole bending contest was netted by Wilkins. She placed first in the barrel race witha time of 31.4 and won the pole bending event at 39.4. Kay Dee Allen garnered second place in the barrel race at 37.0 and HeDee Palleson snared third at 47.5. Pallesen also placed second in the pole bending at 1:05.28. Allen nabbed third place. Jamie Barker collected first place in the &-12 barrel race at 18.0 and KayDee Pallesen pocketed second place at 18.4. Lori Webb placed third at 18.9. Barker also collected first place in the 6-12 pole bending contest at 25.0 and Lori Webb nabbed second at 26.2. Toni Winn placed third at 27.6. Mathis earned top honors in the 12-18 year old barrel race at 19.7 and placed plac-ed first in the pole bending event at 27.5. Carrie Crozier snared second place honors in the barrel race at 20.5 and in the pole bending contest at 29.2. Roseanne Fausett netted third place in the barrel race at 41.4. HeDee Pallesen garnered first place in the goat tying event with a time of 2: 10 in the up to five year old division. KayDee Pallesen placed first in the 6-12 year old goat tying event at 25.5 and Crozier snared first in the 12-18 year old goat tying event at 14.2. Shad Stubbs placed first in the goat chase and James Winn garnered second. Ryan Barker gained third place honors. Tony Reidhead and Cricket Allen garnered first place in the team roping rop-ing at 21.5 and Dwane Davis and Jeff Crozier placed second at 42.6. Randy Wilkins captured the breakaway roping rop-ing title with a time of 7.2. Allen placed plac-ed first in the calf riding at 5 seconds and Winn snared second at 2 seconds. J.R. Pallesen placed third at 2.44. Scott Stubbs placed first in the steer riding at 4.5 and Shane Shaffer placed plac-ed second at 40 seconds. |
