Show Dinosaur visitation up in March The March visitation to Dinosaur National Na-tional Monument was 10,972-a modest .; seven percent increase or 745 more than last year. ; According to Park Superintendent "' Joe L. Kennedy, park use typically doubles from one month to the next during dur-ing the springtime. For example, if this trend holds true, April travel will exceed ex-ceed twenty thousand and May will jump to forty thousand. If the busy Easter weekend was any indication, April travel to the park will easily dou-: dou-: - ble the March figures. ;- Park officials report the Monument 'J back-country roads are still not open due to late winter snows and generally wet conditions. "It will probably be May before the Harpers Corner Road is open," said Maintenance Chief Art Williams. The Quarry Visitor Center is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The headquarters head-quarters office and exhibits are open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Fri-;.- day. |
