Show Iran presses despite I Iraqi troop pullout The last group of Iraqi troops withdrew from Iranian territory captured early in the 21-month Persian Gulf War, but Iran nonetheless vowed to fight until all its demands are met. Iraq warned the aggression would be severly dealt with. Iranian conditions include war reperations, the ousting and trial of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and international condemnation of Iraq as the agressor. Iraqi troops were ordered back across the border June 20 after a series of Iranian battlefield victories. Hussein remained president after Iraq's ruling Baath party reshuffled the Revolutionary Command Council, the country's highest ruling body. |
