Show Reunion unites family members The Philip and Caroline Ann Crouch Sti iiiKhain family reunion was held at the Bicentennial Pavilion, July ID-Families ID-Families met at noon to have lunch and talk about family history. Philip and Caroline with three small daughters came to this valley from Salt Lake City September 16, 1H7H, taking 21 days to travel. They came to gel Caroline's sister's baby boy. Josephine Crouch Westover died when this baby was born. He was named Claire Westover. This child was the first white boy that was born that lived. They got the baby and returned to Salt Lake City. Philip liked what he saw in this valley and returned the next spring. That following winter however, was the "Hard Winter" and the people struggled struggl-ed to survive.. but through all of this Philip and Caroline left a posterity that has been of great value to the community communi-ty of Vernal: senators, doctors, teachers, church and civic leaders and many more. Briant H. Stringham, the only living child, attended. He is 93 years old. He has had an influence on this valley. Carma Hae Fereday, president, conducted con-ducted the events of the day. Games were played and prizes given. Geneology papers were available. |
