Youth council promotes state fair A group of 4-Hers have been chosen to form the Uintah County 4-H Youth Council which is helping to promote the Utah State Fair, Sept. 10-20. The council was organized July 27 by the USU Extension Service and the State 4-H Ambassador Marjean Oviatt. The 25 applicants were interviewed by the extension service. Fourteen youths were chosen for the council. President of the council is Vickie Snow; vice president, Sharalyn Slaugh; secretary, Melinda Wayland; reporter, Shelton Humphries and other members are Joe Newell, Tina Phillips, Philip Oviatt, Kyle Cox, Jenifer Amodt, Brett Baker, Steven Lind, Ryan Wright, Teresa Snow and Tonja Morrill. The Youth Council's first task was decorating the Uintah County 4-H Fair. They also set up a 4-H booth and gave information to people about 4-H. The council is now taking posters, pamphlets and placemats to businesses in Uintah County to promote the State Fair. |
