Show i.-jj&a. , THE SWISS ALPS will be part of the experience of patrons of the Vernal Lions Club Travel and Adventure Series to be shown at the Vernal Jr. High auditorium. Lions Club travel series receives community support Tuesday night's kick-off of the Vernal Lions Club fund raising project, a travel and adventure series, to buy playground equipment for Vernal parks, was a huge success according to project chairman Mike Sullivan. A large crowd was entertained by Peter Denn who narrated his film "Holland in the Caribbean" in the Vernal Jr. High Auditorium. The show was free to introduce the travel series to the public, and give them a first hand preview of what they can expect in the six shows still to come. Brad Wallis, ticket chairman for the campaign, said there has been gratifying response to ticket sales and the Lions are hopeful they can reach the campaign goal of $12,000 for the project. Wallis said tickets for the series are available from any Vernal Lion at $10 for adults and $25 for familiy season tickets. Tickets are also being sold at Deseret Federal, Vernal Drug, Frontier Travel, First Security Bank and Day's Thriftway. Wallis stressed that this is a family show and each member of the family will enjoy the travelogues not only for their wholesome entertainment and educational value, but because they are adventurous as well. "Everyone has the urge to travel," Wallis said, "but only a few satisfy that desire. By attending the Vernal Lions Club Travel and Adventure Series, people will experience a joy and thrill in visiting those far away places and have the satisfaction of helping a very worthwhile cause."' Wallis went on to say that not only will patrons visit Iceland with adventurer ad-venturer Fred Hartman in "The Many Moods of Iceland," Oct. 18, but they will also take an armchair tour of Hawaii, Nov. 29 with artist Dennis Cooper. Travelogue patrons will stay in the warmer climates in February with the Valentines Day feature. "Panama, and You Thought it was only a Canal" with Clint Denn.
