Show , i ; ! I I ; -'B-- -V Vj ...J RHONDA RHODES Rhonda Rhodes, a senior at Uintah, has been selected as November's Student of the Month. One of several students nominated by the faculty, she was voted the outstanding student by the executive council. As part of the honor, she was Invited to have lunch , with the Rotary Club, and is recognized as the Junior Rotarian. Several organizations have benefited from Rhonda's contributions in her years at Uintah. Probably more than any other, thebandSJje..hasJbeen.a member of several instrumental groups at Uintah. Shewasj:hosenas.. drum majorette forthe marching band, is in the jazz band, pep band, and the concert band. Because of her ability as a saxaphone player, Rhonda was selected as one of the musicians from across the country to participate in a national youth orchestra. or-chestra. She and another Uintah student, Linda Troester, were privileged to tour Europe with the group. Rhonda is also active in the athletic program. She was a key player on the Uintah Girl's basketball team last year and served as varsity captain. She was a leading rebounder and valuable asset to the team. Fans are expecting more of the same this year. In addition to' her musical 3 and " athletic abilities. Rhonda aJso exceeds in academics. She carried one of the highest grade point averages, and is in the top percentage of her class. She is a m.ember ofthe honorocietyduetp her academic achievements. Teachers enjoy having Rhonda in class, because she is a hard worker and a leader. Rhonda, the daughter of Larry and Joyce Rhodes, is also involved in many other activities outside of school, including in-cluding church and community service. |
