S 1883 the Labor Reform Act For the first time ever said the US U.S. Department of Agriculture has reported that labor employed in the distribution system now gets more out of every dollar consumers spend for food than farmers who produce it This drives home to us the need to stop any further action by bythe bythe bythe the United States Congress to grant more power to the union bosses The Farm Bureau points out that organized labor has already won the passage of this legislation in the House of Representatives and that the last chance for stopping or moderating the bill lies with the members of the Senate Letters to the senators should be addressed to the Senate Office Building Washington DC D.C. SENATE BILL 1883 is a grab for more power by the unions who represent only one worker in five in this country but who have enough economic and political power already to close down vital ital services such as transportation port facilities schools and even police and fire departments The last thing we need for forthe the Congress to do is to write re-write the National Labor Relations Act to tilt it even further in favor of unions and against business acknowledges that agriculture has an exemption from the National Labor Relations Act and that S S. S 1883 does not propose to remove that exemption but points out that farmers farmers farmers far mers and everyone else are affected by bythe bythe bythe the excessive demands and power of unions If this bill becomes law labors labor's appetite will be whetted for further amendments including the removal of the agricultural exemption and repeal of Section 14 which permits states to pass work right laws that outlaw compulsory unionism concluded Mr Hacking |
