Show Community Pride Uintah H 4 clubs Two groups of Uintah County 4 Hers have been selected to receive top state honors for their community pride project Youths from l Maeser laeser and Naples Davis areas conducted immunization campaigns and clinics for area residents Maeser Hers 4 under the leadership of Marjean l Oviatt and Ora Fay Oviatt and Naples Davis clubs led by Judy Stoll set up clinics in area elementary schools County health nurses volunteered to give the shots The conducted youth door to door door campaigns distributed brochures made posters wrote six radio spots pots advertising the clinics helped with immunization Immunization Im record k keeping and entertained children while they waited for H their ir s shots ts They Tey y also I Iso contacted parents of of pre pre- pre pre- to remind them that Utah law requires children to be immunized Almost immunizations were given at clinics for a nominal fee Immunizations for polio measles mum mumps and tetanus were available Th The state department may use the Uintah project as amodel amodel a amodel model for future clinics The Uintah County Hers 4 applied for and received community pride grants from Standard Oil Company of California to help with clinic costs Standard Oil donated about 2000 this year to help Hers 4 with about 28 community pride projects throughout the state Projects In Garfield Sevier Cache ac et and Web Weber counties were were selected for special mention |
