Show UM FLASHES by Jim Abplanalp BULLDOGS HERE TONIGHT A gang of scrappy Bulldogs from Judge Memorial will invade in-vade the Bingham Miners' lair tonight, seeking a win over the shorter local five. Coach Allsop's quint was at it's best when these two squads met before, rampaging rampag-ing to a 64 to 44 victory, highest league total so far. The locals downed Grantsville last week by a narrow margin, to keep in the running for second place and a tourney berth, so will be shooting shoot-ing the works from here on in. The Miners will meet Murray at Copperton on Thursday night, February 21st and wind up the regular league play at Tooele the following Friday. BDAA members please have your cards ready, and don't forget for-get the two penny tax. Games here start at 7 and 8 p.m. ALLEY ANGLES The regular Wednesday night practice session at the Gemmell lanes saw some more torrid pin-busting, pin-busting, as the boys posted five big 600 series, twenty-two 200 games, and five series above the 190 average mark. Tim Ablett headed the big on.es with 662, on games of 221-209-232. Howard Harker blasted 201-212-232 for 645 total. Ray Johnson John-son had 628, G. Sluga 622 and J. Abplanalp 619. Team No. 3 had its hand full to overcome No. 5 and take 3 points. W. Lopez for the winners scored 599, as P. Padgen totaled 596 for the losing squad. Team No. 7, with H. HarkeVs series took 3 of 4 from No. 4. Team No. 8 won all four from team No. 2, and team No. 1 took four from No. 6. In a way, we hate to see the fellows do this, the poor old pins can never stand up under this sort of bombard-, ment 1 , ' . BDAA HOOP NEWS C.Y.O. and the Yellow Bellies copped wins this week to remain tied for top spot in the BDAA hoop chase. CYO downed River-ton River-ton 45 to 27, as J. Kallen and Vic Roblez dunked 12 and 10 points for the winners. Newman of the Riverton quint garnered 13. The Yellow Bellies ran wild over a scrappy Redskin five 85 to 40, as Groves swished 35 tallies tal-lies through the strings. Zdunich, Schick and Buckle hit for 20, 14 and 12 points respectively. H. Clah did most of the Redskin scoring with 18, on his jump shot specialty. Copperfield troun ced the Chiefs 63 to 21 as Goris and Carter connected for 19 and 15. Next Monday's games will be played later in the week, due to other use of the halL The two leaders will clash for top honors at a later date, as Copperfield meets Riverton and the Redskins battle the Chiefs. SPECIAL MEETING A special meeting of the BDAA board of directors will be held at the City hall Monday, February Febru-ary 18, at 6:30 p.m. All directors are urged to be present.
