| Show providence POINTERS the members of our excellent sunday school gave a concert in the providence hall on friday evening b last it commenced with an ope opening nida SOD song 0 by twenty young ladies of the sunday school and they san sang as beautifully as they looked after after prayer pray er there was a very sweet piece sa sang n a a by twelve little girls girl this was followed with a recitation by mrs mary ann checketts which was rend rendered cred in a manner that reflected great credit mrs cliffee and da daughter rendered a musical selection on the guitar and harmonica ni in answer to loan all encore the he little lady sang sang 0 a geralean song boug 0 accompanied on the guitar by her mother tile the next was a song by miss misa sarah guer and miss sarah marler accompanied on the organ by mrs margarett IlA inmond then came a recitation by bv master luther fife our fife band then played a tune and was encored miss aliss lillie lillic madison played a selection on oil the or organ oran n an the next was a character cha recitation citation le ie by hiram fredricks fred ricks miss annie bair then gave cave a select reading mrs margrett hammond flammond played a solo on oil the organ this was followed by a song by mr mrs margret II ammond and miss maggie e mailer AI ailer they are arc all fine singers and their singing was highly appreciated A selection from the book of mormon representing the nephi preacher appearing bafaro the lam monito king it is a beautiful piece acce but would be much improved bl by r y leaving n the school scene out tile the entertainment concluded with a laughable farce in ill fact the whole program reflected great credit upon the managers and all who took part in it it was a perfect success Q both artistically avd aud financially and as regards the school itself I 1 believe it is is one of the best in the county and nd too much praise cannot be b given its president mr it hopkin mathews mathess and those associated with hill SILAS |
