Show MIGHT HAVE BEEN WORSE. On Saturday last a man by the name of Jens Neilson came to Doctor Ormsby, stating that "something was the matter with his shoulder." He said that about four weeks since, while working in Steam hollow, Logan canyon, he was struck on the shoulder by the butt of a sliding log; and since that time he had been unable to move his arm. He had applied linament with the greatest prodigality; but the effect had not been such that he could congratulate himself on the efficacy of the treatment. An examination was made by the doctor, and it was found that the shoulder joint was very seriously dislocated. After some little time, with considerable muscular assistance, the bones were successfully replaced. It is providential that the long delay did not prove more serious. |
