Show On Tuesday last, a fair sized audience which would have been larger had more public notice been given, assembled in the Tabernacle basement to listen to a lecture on chemistry by Mr. Horace Cummings of B. Y (Brigham Young) College. The lecture was illustrated by beautiful and interesting experiments, and held the deepest attention of the audience throughout. A desire has been expressed to have the lecture repeated, which will be done, we hope, in the near future. The lecture was given under the auspices of the Lecture Bureau, and was the first of a series of Tuesday evening lectures for which the Bureau have made arrangements. On Tuesday evening next Geo. (George) Barber Esq. (Esquire), will lecture on the subject of "Seafaring Life," a theme and a speaker that will prove very interesting and instructive, we have no doubt. Turn out and show your interest in intellectual amusements. |
