Show JUBILEE CONFERENCE.

A large audience assembled in the tabernacle at 10 a.m. April 6th. Prayer was offered by Elder Orson Pratt. Elder P. D. Richards complimented the Saints on having reached the fiftieth anniversary of the Church, and upon the wonderful work that had been accomplished by the Almighty. He related many incidents in the history of the Church, showing that all men who had opposed the work of God had sunken into obscurity or died with bodily suffering. In this year of jubilee the speaker thought all the saints should be made to rejoice together, the honest and worthy poor should be released from their debts and obligations and the Saints in foreign lands be gathered home to Zion. Elder L. J. Nuttall read the statistical report of the various Stakes.

In the afternoon, a financial statement of the Trustee in Trust for the Church was read. Prest. [President] Taylor stated that vouchers were on hand for all the accounts read, and thought that they Auditing Committee should examine them. Elder Lorenzo Snow moved that we accept the report and that it be referred with the accompanying documents to the Auditing Committee. The motion was seconded and carried unanimously. The financial report of the Logan Temple was then read, also of the Manti temple. An exhibit of the receipts and expenditures of the Perpetual Emigration Fund for the past six months was presented. Elder Erastus Snow then addressed the congregation, occupying an hour on general subjects. In the evening the Young Men's Mutual Improvement Association held a meeting in the Assembly Hall; Elders Wilford Woodruff, Jos. F. Smith and Moses Thatcher were appointed as the permanent presidency of the associations. Superintendent Woodruff briefly addressed the meeting, expressing his interest in the work of mutual improvement among the young, and called for the statistical report, the totals of which were accordingly read as follows:

Stake organizations 20; associations 240; members 9,?81; attendance 3,9?8; quarterly conferences 43; weekly meetings ?,45?; conjoint sessions 397; extra meetings 115; total meetings 3,171; visitors sent 1,311; visitors received 1,113; visits of county and general officers ???; members gone on missions 71; libraries 81; volumes 3,081; value of books $3,870.45; manuscript papers 283; financial exhibit showed cash and other property on hand $3,791.87; subjective lectures give 3,000; testimonies borne 3,?83.
br> On the morning of the 7th, Levi W. Hancock was the first speaker. He was followed by Prest. [President] Taylor who said in this year of jubilee we ought to release those in debt to the P. E. Fund and unable to pay and relieve them; and that his brethren of the twelve joined him in this. Elder Carrington said it was proposed to remit one-half of the amount due by poor people but not of those who are able to pay. The congregation voted to do so. Prest. [President] Taylor said the manner of remitting would be hereafter explained. He moved one-half of unpaid tithing now due by the deserving poor, be also remitted. The congregation voted unanimously in favor of the motion. He [unreadable line] and five thousand sheep be distributed among poor people who had suffered from failure of crops and were in distress; 300 of the cows, and two thousand of the sheep, the church was willing to donate; the balance to be donated by the several Stakes. The congregation unanimously sustained the proposition. It was further proposed that the wheat saved by the Relief Society, amounting to nearly 35,000 bushels, be loaned to those who needed it, and the Bishops see to having it replaced after harvest. Sustained unanimously. Prest. [President] Taylor counseled the people to relieve the oppressed, but on a kind, brotherly, generous principle, and carry out the doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ. It would not be amiss for Z. C. M. I. to cancel the debts of some of the poor against whom accounts were held. These operations were part of the United Order. When the Lord is blessing us let us bless one another. He will not let us suffer if we do not let one another suffer. Prospects were good for a bountiful harvest, and if we cared for each other God would care for us; we would be His people and He would be our God. Bishop Hardy spoke on tithing, said if an honest tithing were paid it would do all public work, build temples, feed poor, etc., and stated that hundreds did not pay a dollar. Forty-four missionaries to Europe, twenty-two to the states, and two elsewhere were then called. Their names are as follows:

GREAT BRITAIN

Charles W.
