Show This morning, as Thomas Wallace, clerk in the hardware house of Messrs. B. D. Wilson & Co. (Company), was pouring some varnish from a five-gallon can into a narrow necked vessel, being in a stooping position at the time, a gentleman entered the store, approached Mr. Wallace, and said, "Are these shovels come for us," at the same time slapping him fairly between the shoulders, (of course with no intention to hurt him), when Mr. Wilson fell to the floor and became insensible. The blow caused temporary stagnation of the blood, and a cold chill to pass through his system. Mr. John Williams poured some stimulants, which were administered to him, but it was not until after two hours rubbing and other operations that Mr. Wallace was able to resume his duties in the store. He thinks it was a close call. - Ogden Herald. |
