Show A HAPPY DEPARTURE. The Y.L.M.I.A. of the First Ward, give a social ball in Logan Hall this (Friday) evening, which promises to be a happy departure from the traditional style in which such affairs are usually gotten up. The invitations are sent to ladies and read "yourself and gentlemen are cordially invited, &c.," a refreshing change from the stereotyped phraseology of the usual ball ticket. The committee are Mrs. F. Stoddard, Miss Annie Carlisle, and Miss Ida Thatcher, and we wish and bespeak for them a brilliant success. |
