Show DEATH OF AN OLD CITIZEN. On Monday last, Brother John A. Woolf, Sr. [Senior], of Hyde Park, passed away. He was an old Nauvoo veteran in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a man who was respected as far as he was known and he was widely known in this valley. The funeral was held at one o'clock Wednesday, and was largely attended. Apostle Moses Thatcher and others delivered addresses. Among the old veterans who have passed away in this valley, few have left a better record than Father Woolf. Faithful, true and good, he was deeply respected and beloved by all who associated with him. We hope to be able, in a future issue, to publish some account of his life, as it is well worthy of record. |
