He was a member of a surveying party, was an utter stranger here, and being taken with mountain fever, did not receive proper care, and died, a stranger in a strange land. His goods are exceedingly useful for many purposes, and the samples of monograms, names, initials, &c., which he shows are fine. For marking linen, &c., his stamps are very handy and valuable. He is a thorough pharmacist, and well understands the physiological effects of remedies. We are always in favor of having the highest scientific skill attainable in the treatment of the sick.
