Show ARRESTED. A hitherto respectable young man of Logan was arrested on Monday last, at Coe & Carter's camp above Franklin on a charge of horse stealing. He was taken to Franklin, placed under $15 bonds, and released. It seems that a short time since the young man, while up north, saw a horse in a band, which he knew belonged to a man in Logan, though it bore a new brand. Having to drive some horses down to Logan, he brought this horse down also, supposing he was thereby obliging its owner. The man who had put the new brand on it, instigated this arrest. These are the facts as stated to us. It does not appear by what right the new brand had been put upon the horse. |
