Show Local Happenings mm mm a a a , - m a A lovely birthday party honoring hon-oring Joan Johnson on her 12th birthday was given Wednesday afternoon, June 6, by her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Clarence Johnson. A very large birthday cake coated in chocolate frosting with yellow yel-low roses and flanked by tall yellow tapers and bowls of fresh roses centered the table. Favors were miniature plastic florescent baskets filled with candy. Guests present were Linda Ballamis, Patsy Mann, JoAnn Spera, Barbara Bar-bara Nelson, Brenda Kimsey, Sherry Peterson, Jo Anna Pappa-sideris, Pappa-sideris, Kathy Zampos, Sharon Bell, Patsy Dickson, Sharon Porter, Por-ter, Ann Marie Deakin, Patricia Nielsen, Rosemary Arritola, Sandra San-dra Nelson, Toni Stewart, Marie Lovat, Connie Bianchi, Bobby Lee Johnson, LaDean Ham, Nikki Jones, Diana Ugarte, Rhea Skinner Skin-ner and Aileen Strike of Salt Lake City. Mrs. T. J. Hurley assisted as-sisted Mrs. Johnson with party arrangements. Joan received many lovely gifts. Patsy Creedon is in Ogden visiting vis-iting a few days with her sister, Colleen. Bingham Ward Relief Society work meeting will be held Tuesday, Tues-day, June 12 at 10 a.m. It will consist of textile and figurine painting and making pictures end baskets. Members and guests having birthdays in June will be honored at a luncheon at noon. Visiting teachers report meeting will be held at 2 p.m. with Hilda Allmark giving the lesson. Among those attending the banquet of the annual convention conven-tion of Utah Federation of Business Busi-ness and Professional Women's club which was held at New-house New-house hotel in Salt Lake City last Saturday night were Miss Althea Christensen, Mrs. Shirley Jensen, Miss Gwen Parker, Mrs. Ethel Evans and Mrs. Agnes Steele. Mrs. Steele, state historian, histor-ian, had charge of the memorial services held Sunday morning. Lt. and Mrs. C. R. Sullenger and family of Norfolk, Va., are visiting at the home of his mother mo-ther and sister, Mrs. Helen Sullenger Sul-lenger and Agnes. The visitors will be here until June 18th. W WW WW WW w Galena lodge auxiliary held their regular business meeting at Bingham Methodist church on i Wednesday evening, June 6th. Drills were practiced. Cut prizes were won by Mrs. Frances Rog-erson, Rog-erson, Mrs. Bernice Foster, Mrs. Amy Shafter and Mrs. Nora Austin. After the meeting lovely refreshments were served to eleven by Mrs. Irma Dimmick and Mrs. Marda Nielsen, hostesses hostess-es for the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bell and children, Joan Nielsen and Mrs. Maggie Peck visited in St. Anthony, An-thony, Ida., last week end with Mrs. Bell's brother and Mrs. Peck's son, Leonard Peck and family. The Bells and Miss Nielsen Niel-sen returned home Sunday. Mrs. Peck remained for a few weeks visit. Mr. and Mrs. Harry V. Bond and daughter returned Monday from a week's visit to Seattle, Wash. Entre Nous club met Wednesday Wednes-day evening in Copperton at the home of Mrs. Miles Gaythwaite. Prizes at bridge were awarded to Mrs. Axel Sybrowsky, Mrs. W. C. Carter, Mrs. Verl Peterson Peter-son and Mrs. Dean Ham. Lovely refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Gust of Copperton and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Goodwin and son Benny of Salt Lake City spent Memorial day in Pioche, Nev., visiting Mr. and Mrs. William Motis and daughter, Jeanne Louise. En-route En-route home they stopped in Mc-Gill Mc-Gill and visited Mr. and Mrs. George Hoggan. WBA will meet at the home of Mrs. H. R. Gust of Copperton on Monday evening, June 18th. j Mr. and Mrs. Vern-Lipsey received re-ceived a letter Wednesday from their son, Don, who is stationed with the army at Ft. Bragg, N. Car., telling them he is expecting expect-ing to come home on a furlough around the Fourth of July.
