Show GOVERNMENT AGENCIES WIN B0NDH0N0RS Defense bond activity in Utah has been stimulated by achievements achieve-ments last month in the payroll savings plan division, Charles L. Smith, state chairman, reported this week. Honors for setting the pace in Utah went to 11 government , agencies which obtained 100 per cent participation in the payroll plan. Utah's Selective Service system, sys-tem, which has at least one office of-fice in every county of the state, was one of the groups with a perfect 100 per cent score. This agency also won national notice by tying the participation record re-cord of the Kentucky Selective Service system. The other 100 per cent defense bond agencies are: Bureau of the Census; Statistics branch, Bureau Bur-eau of Mines; Oil and Gas Leasing Leas-ing branch, Geological Survey; Immigration and Naturalization Service; U. S. Marshal's office; Bureau of Narcotics, Treasury Dept.; U. S. Secret Service; U. S. Savings Bond division, Treasury Trea-sury Dept, and Food and Drug Administration, Federal Security Agency. Honor plaques are awarded any business or group that attains at-tains more than 51 per cent participation par-ticipation in the defense bond payroll savings plan. The same type plaque was awarded to each of these government agencies agen-cies and to 12 others for their patriotic achievement, Mr. Smith said. Ths payroll plan for defense bond purchases can be installed by any employer, no matter how small his business, explained Mr. Smith.
