The competition is attended on an invitational basis, and the Debutantes received their official invitation - February 11. On February 18th, the girls and their mothers met to discuss dis-cuss and deliberate the possibility possi-bility of attending the competition. competi-tion. An enthusiastic affirmation affirma-tion was met by the DroposaL Mrs. Rogers outlined the program to the attending mothers and daughters. She explained that the girls would be competing compet-ing in three major competitive judgings. A parade in the morning, a 10 minute performance perfor-mance in the afternoon, and a 10 minute allotment of judging in the evening. Different judges will be selected for all three phases of competition. The first 10 units will receive recognition and trophys will be awarded to the first four. There will be 35 entries. Mrs. Polly Wagner was chosen as Fund Raising Chairman, and her committee will be compos ed of Mrs. Ruby Fitzwater, Mrs. Pauline Brown, and Mrs. Marvella Wilkerson. Mrs. Fitzwater will be in charge of contributions. A dinner, car wash, and bake sale are being planned. Mrs. Edyth Marett was elected elect-ed to be in charge of Adult Chaprones. There are 10 openings for interested parents or persons who wish to accompany accom-pany the group. A $15. 00 fee will cover bus travel, meals and lodging for two "nights. The rental on the bus has been set at $300. 00, and the girls must raise this in order to attend. A plea is being made to the citizens of Duchesne Duch-esne to support the girls in this effort. |
