Show I OTHERS VIEWS VIES I READER DONT DON'T LIKE THE NEW V BANK BANK- LA LAW LAV V Dear Editor I It appears that the common people have thrown their votes votes' away Looks to me as if the forgotten forgotten forgotten for for- gotten man continues to be for for- gotten The banking bill just passed is in the interest of the banking trust It permits the bankers to put up security on which they draw interest and al allows allows al al- lows them to have money printed against this security to the amount 1 of two or three billions of dollars which will be loaned back to the government or to the people al allowing allowing al al- lowing them to draw Interest on two dollars where they only have bave one dollar invested This means a profit to the bank bank- ers where they have hav no money in in- In vested At three percent interest interest inter inter- est the amount on two billions of ot dollars paid to the bankers would be sixty millions of dollars Why should the government give jive people already wealthy this large arge amount of money Why should this money not have been used to pay government expense ex ex- pense and balance the budget I The answer to this Is that we live In a capitalistic land where the money men have nice legal ways to o devour the finances of the coun coun- try As a result when the government govern ment needs money it will have to issue bonds or short term certificates certificates certin- certin cates in order to get it and it-and and pay Interest on them These bonds and certificates will be bought largely by jy the very banks which are given the currency privilege The government government government gov gov- gives them the currency and and then the government will borrow some of it back from them and pay them interest on it And d that's the ne new deal you get under the Democratic tion lon How much longer are the people going to stand for nice framed farces that mean millions to o the financiers and nothing for foric forthe forthe the ic common people JOHN O.
