From New York comes the announcement that Chairman Mack of the Democratic national committee . has so far i outlined his plans as to state that he will organize eastern head- quarters in New York. Mr. Mack will, however, spend practically f all of his time in the west, while the fight in the east will be con- ducted by a sub-committee. During the past week he held several important conferences with national committeemen and leaders. Mr. H, i Bryan is preparing to invade the stronghold of the opposition, both H' in his party and out. He will deliver a series of speeches in the cast, ' particularly in New York and adjoining states. H. Frank S. Hitchcock, Republican national chairman, has cstab- lished headquarters in the Manhattan building, New York, and will H immediately begin the work of organizing sub-committees through- V I out the west.
