Show A TRIBUTE Bingham Canyon, January 24, 1951 The announewnent this morning morn-ing of the death of Francis W. Quinn came as a great shock and heart felt feeling to myself and the people of Bingham. My commendation com-mendation and appreciation of his life and association can hardly hard-ly be told in words, and more can be said of the tributes of the people in general who knew him and lived with him during his work and life in Bingham. When I first met and knew him I was told at his early age he was associated with his brother lh the mercantile business and I well remember the old trail traveled trav-eled by him in delivering groceries, groc-eries, etc. on his pack burro's over the mountain from upper Bingham to the old Brooklyn mine and I, too, traveled this trail to the old Dalton and Brook lyn mines. Later he became manager man-ager of the telephone company and acted in this capacity 35 years until retired by the company com-pany on a pension. He served for many years as mining recorder of the West Mountain Mining district and as a public servant, he is best remembered re-membered as Town Clerk for many years. As mayor of Bingham Bing-ham for many years, I was closely close-ly associated with him in the capacity ca-pacity of his work. His records are beyond reproach and his work was always honest, efficient effic-ient and his advice carefully guarded and helpful in behalf of the public. Francis Quinn was a great and admired citizen. Although death among the works of the Almighty Al-mighty has come when it might be expected at his age, the thread of memory has drawn him closer to ine and to you and as one of the old timers of Bingham he has joined the throng of old timers tim-ers in the journey to the great beyond. May these brief words convey to his family our sincere sympathy. sym-pathy. As Bingham continues to live and build so will the memories of his deeds and work be always with its people. Sincerely expressed, , DR. F. . STRAUP |
