Show Vandalism of Priceless Tracks ... Sometime during the night of June 21 someone apparently decided to try to take at least two of the dinosaur tracks along the Potash Road home with them. In the process one wa9 so badly mutilated it's now unrecognizable and the other was completely destroyed. In addition several new "phony" petroglyphs were chipped into the rock in the area of authentic petrogiypns nearby. People who are interested in historical preservation of dinosaur tracks, bone, artifacts, archaeological sites, rock art, historic cabins, etc.m are urged to attend a public environmental workshop on Monday, June 28, from 10 a.m. until noon. This is one of four public workshops being held that day and the next. Environmental and historic aspects of land management will be studied with the special thrust of the meeting being to obtain local comment and recommendations about BLM policies on these subjects Photo by Bruce Louthan, BLM Archaeologist |
