Show Council holds special session At a special meeting of the City Council last Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., the Moab City Council reviewed review-ed an application to be made to the Utah Outdoor Recreation Agency for matching funds to be used for the construction of an indoor-outdoor pool in Moab. The Council was assisted assist-ed in the review by George Gault of Management Manage-ment Services Company of Montrose, Colorado. Management Services is an intergovernmental re- v lations counseling firm. The Council voted to authorize Mayor Jacobs to sign the application and verify the city's intent to produce matching funds for the project. The proposed pool will be "American" size (75 feet long); large enough for interscholastic events. An Olympic size pool is 164 feet long. The Council will hold 3 public hearings next Tuesday, Tues-day, June 6, at 8 p.m. The first is concerned with a request made by Fred Stoye to rezone for the purpose of constructing a 7-11 type store. The second hearing will be concerned with a rezoning request made by the Grand County School District. Dis-trict. The third hearing will deal with the request of Town Television for permission to erect a 4.5 meter earth station anten-na. |
