Show Senior Citizen news . . . On Labor Day, Monday Sept. 4th, 17 Senior Citizens from Moab spent the day at Monticello Lake fishing and enjoying the cool weather and a wonderful won-derful picnic dinner serv-ed-with barbecue turkey, fried chicken, rolls, several sever-al different tasty salads, pickles, olives, celery, cookies, lemonade, and coffee. Later in the afternoon after-noon a large watermelon and cantelope were served No one came home hungry. hun-gry. Those going on the Senior Citizen bus were Howard Bennet, driver of the bus, his wife, Bessie, Frank and Eddah Shields, Madge Warde, Mildred Campbell, Hannah Pitt-man, Pitt-man, Gen Holyoak, Irene Head, and Racheal Short. In private cars were Bertha Ricks and son Floyd Ricks and wife Ruth and daughter Velma Paul, Frank Coalson, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lowry. SENIOR TRIP Notice! The Grand County Senior Citizen bus will go to "Holiday on Ice" and the State Fair September 13th- "Senior Citizen Day." All Senior Citizens get $2.00 off on "Holiday on Ice" tickets- then free admission to the State Fair on that date. Bus fare is $5.00 round trip. There is room for 4 more on the bus. Please call Madge Warde at the center, 259-6623 or 259-7374 259-7374 for reservations. Bus fare must be paid in advance. The bus will leave promptly at 8 a.m. and will return the 21st. ROOM ON BUS Notice! Room for 2 more on bus going to Durango, Colorado Sept. 20th for the trip on Narrow Gauge railroad Car 4 to Silverton. $5.00 bus round trip-$12.00 on train or bus train combination. Will stay over night the 20th and return home the 21st. This scenic 46 mile train trip to Silverton from Durango will be a beautiful, beauti-ful, colorful trip this time of the year. Please call the Sr. Center at 259-6623 or 259-7374 for reservations at once. We will eat lunch Wed. 20th at 12 noon at the Senior Center 55 in Durango. |
