Show Baseball Nine And Tracksfers To End Season Moab baseball and track teams face their last regular regu-lar season competition this weekend before moving into in-to regional playoffs and track meets. Coach Ward Curtis sends his nine against Fruita, Colorado in a game at Moab Mo-ab Friday at 3:00 p.m. That wraps up the regular season. The playcff game is not definitely set as yet, but it appeans Moab will meet the winner of Region Si.x North next week. Trackmen, or at least part of them, have a dal.3 at the Utah High School Relay Carnival at Highland High School in Salt Lake City. The 1:00 p.m. meet offers competition in eight relays for both Class A and B teams. Moab is the defending Class B champion in the mile relay, an event they have won three straight years. The Devils also will defend a title in the shuttle relay, an event run on the gridiron with runners exchanging batons bat-ons while going in opposile d. regions. Steve Walston of the miie relay team is the lone returning member, but he and his mates arc undefeated unde-feated this year. Dave Bier-schied Bier-schied returns from the shuttle team and will lead it off this year. Coach Del Ford said Tuesday, injuries will restrict re-strict Moab to five of the eight relays Saturday. |
