Show Stalemate Continues on Dispatcher Question No further action was taken ta-ken at a lengthy meeting of the County Commissioners which was held on Monday, July 14, concerning law enforcement en-forcement jurisdiction. Commissioner Fred Beyeler, Beye-ler, acting as chairman in the absence of Ralph Miller, Sr., who is hospitalized, moved mo-ved early in the mcctin that the dispatch office be put back under the Sheriffs direction, wheh would void an earlier Commission decision de-cision to move the operation over to the Mayor and City Council. The motion died for lack of a secend. A large delegation of Moab Mo-ab and Grand County citizens, citi-zens, primarily backing the Shcrifr and his staff, were in attendance at the meeting. Several citizens had questions ques-tions of the Commission and after some discussion between be-tween these individuals and the Commission members. Mars Pope and Dr. Fred Beyeler. the City Council members were called and requested to attend. However, How-ever, by the time they ar rived, the majority of he crowd had disbursed. Tom Stocks, Jack West and Harold Har-old Jacobs, City Councilmen, answered questions of both the Commission and the visitors vis-itors at the meeting. . County Attorney, Harry Snow, was a latecomer to the meeting, but answered the question r.s to whether the Commissioners have the legal right to move the dispatcher's dis-patcher's equipment. Snow answered that in his opinion the Commission could legally leg-ally move the dispatch office of-fice or put another person in charge of it if they felt it was necessary. Tiic Crnmis-sion Crnmis-sion requested that the county coun-ty attorney solicit ;-.nother legal opinion by writing to the Attorney General, which he agreed to do. Other Commission action included a report by Attorney Attor-ney Snow on various collections collec-tions for the Allen Memorial Memor-ial Hospital.
