Show Conley Co. Low Bidder On Golf Course Material After an extra week's rest, the members of the City Council spent a busy ni'nt Tuesday with the main order of business the awarding of the bid for the new sprinkling sprink-ling system to be installed at the golf course. The contract con-tract for the new sysem was awarded to Conley Company of Salt Lake City, who submitted sub-mitted the low bid (with the extras included) of $17,852.91. This was considerably less than original estimates. It is hoped that bids for actual construction can be sought in the next few weeks. A group of interested citizens citi-zens met with the council members to discuss the problem prob-lem of the use of marijuana in Moab. These people were . quite concerned that the problem might be getting out of hand and wished to know what the Council intended to do about it. According to Mayor Win-ford Win-ford Bunce, there has been seme work done on this problem prob-lem but he also said that it appeared that more would have to be carried out. He felt this problem should be presented to the city and county attorneys and to our local law enforcement agencies agen-cies and they should work up a plan to curb this abuse. Ray Branscom appeared before the council to request that some work be done to control flooding in Walker subdivision so that some homes to be built there couid obtain FHA financing. He told the council that at present pres-ent there is some flooding and no such loan could be made. The city engineer was to go with Mr. Branscom to look at the area and then make some recommendations about what should be done to improve the situation. The city gave their approval ap-proval to the establishment of a mini-bottle outlet at the Greenwcll resaurant. It is necessary that each establishment estab-lishment desiring a mini-bottle mini-bottle outlet obtain approval from the City before such a request can be granted by the Slate. The Travel Lod'e recently received approval for one of these outlets. Members of the council also decided to re-advertise for bids on the addition of res'.rooms in the City Park. |
