Show Enrollment Nears 2,000 In School System After one complete week of classes at Grand county coun-ty school, the enrollment picture seems to be somewhat some-what brighter than was thought at first with the total now within 80 students stu-dents of reaching the mark w:hich was set at the end of school last spring. A total of 1,991 students had been picked up by the various schools compared with 1,843 after pre-reg-istration was completed. Grand County High School showed 399 students stu-dents registered for classes class-es compared with 390 at the end of last year. The junior High ended last year with 473 enrollees and this year have 452 young people on their register. reg-ister. Southeast Elemen- tary shows a drop of 4 students this week from 646 a year ago to 642 this week. The largest drop in students occurred at Helen Hel-en M. Knight school where 498 are presently signed up for classes compared com-pared with 562 who ended the year last spring. School district official stated that they were very happy with the number num-ber of students enrolled at the schools and did not anticipate any drastic reductions re-ductions in funds for the coming year, although some budgetary cuts have been made.
