Show Vandals Take Time Off From Activities Police Chief Melvin S. Dalton reported this week that the past summer in Moab had been as free from vandalism as could be expected. He reported that City crews had found little damage to signs and equipment this " summer and that Blaine Shields, Utah Power and Light had indicated that fewer than usual street lights had been broken during the summer months. A . warning was issued to motorists to use extreme caution on Moab's streets because of the increased number of youngsters going go-ing to and from school. As children go back to school, the Chief said, both parents par-ents and children need to be reminded of safety procedures pro-cedures which should be observed by all who are involved. Motorists were asked to keep a special lookout for children on bicycles. bi-cycles. On Sept. 8, a minor traffic traf-fic accident was investigated investi-gated by City officers when Gary William Forbes, Forb-es, driving a 1960 International Interna-tional pick-up made a left turn off of Fifth West and hit a Jeep owned by Harold Har-old Couch doing about $100 damage to each of the two autos. Forbes was cited for improper lookout. look-out. A report from the Community Com-munity Baptist Church indicated in-dicated that the glass had been broken out of one of their doors on Sept. ?, with an estimated damage of $50.
