Besides providing many manhours of recreation, the upland game seasons give fathers a chance to further educate edu-cate their children about hunters safety. . September 1 at 6:24 a.m., marks the time the Band-Tailed pigeon and mourning dove seasons will begin. Dove hunting requires only a small game license or combination combina-tion license, Band-Tail pigeon hunters must also pick up a free permit from a local conservation officer. offi-cer. This year the daily limit of doves will be 10 birds with possession limit being be-ing 20 birds per hunter. Band-tailed pigeon hunters hun-ters may harvest five birds daily and have no more than 10 in possession. Baiting either for doves or band-tailed pigeons is illegal. A child under 14 years must be accompanied accompan-ied by one of his parents, legal guardians, or other persons over 21 approved by the parent. A child 14 years to 16 years must be accompanied by a person 21 years or older. No persons under 12 may legally hunt upland game. All persons desiring to pursue doves or band-tail- ed pigeons should review i the 1978 proclamation.
