Show Hanksville News Notes The Hanksville Ward MIA presented their Road Show numbers at MIA Tuesday. They won first place in Slake competition the week pre- Good top soil and lots of help is necessary, and Thursday, April Ap-ril 8. has been set for the next phase. The following names were presenled as new officers of Ihe club: Mrs. Edna Miller, President; Mrs. Edna An-dregg. An-dregg. 1st Vice President; Mrs. Louise Sherrill, 2nd Vice President; Mrs. Nancy Mac-Kay, Mac-Kay, Secretary; and Mrs. Ruth Trouh, Treasurer. The slate was elected by acclamation. Installation ceremonies will be conducted at the May 7 meeting at the home of Mrs. Phyllis Engleman. Mrs. Lucille Lu-cille Silliman is the Installing Officer. Pres. Howland, Cancer drive Chairman, passed out the canvassing materials to those members who are helping her. The meeting was adjourned and co-hostesses Mrs. Helen Tidwell and Mrs. Lucille Holloway joined Mrs. Childs in serving lovely refreshments. Senior Citizens The Senior Citizens will hold there monthly get-together Saturday, April 10 at 7 p.m. Starting with a short business busi-ness meeting, a covered dish dinner will be enjoyed (bring your own service). A two act pantomine will be presentedv titled The Wedding of '76. The rest of the evening will be spent for games, dancing, fun, and merriment. Bring a Senior Citizen friend. Green River Fire Department During the month of March 1976, the Green River Fire Department responded to one grass fire. Fire fighting equipment was utilized in four stand-by situations. These five call out situations resulted in a total of 16 volunteer man hours. The Green River Fire Department Ambulance responded re-sponded to 8 emergency calls during March. These requests ' for ambulance service required re-quired 702 miles of travel and "a total of 62 volunteer man hours. On April 8, 1976 Green River will open sealed bids for the new ambulance they plan to purchase in the very near future. As of this date three sealed bids have been received from various companies. The Green River Fire Department currently has nine members of the department attending an Emergency Medical Med-ical Technician course which is being taught at the College of Eastern Utah in Price. Attending Attend-ing the course are Mr. and Mrs. Clark Riches, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Ekker, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Gunrud, Mr. Jess Dennis, and Sue Allen and Mrs. Berneice Hunt of the Green River Clinic. The course will be completed on May 2, 1976 with the exception of the required hospital emergency training. ioiis. The play was entitled "Cilv Slicker and Our Nell" under the direction of Jim Aston. Those taking part were Lori Bullard. Ken and Sharon Wells. Hyrum Noyes, Mark and Carolyn Lyman. Colleen Johnson. Mike Johnson, and Rhonda Sellers. Mr. and Mrs. Darys Ekker were in Price Saturday on business and went on to Carbonville to visit their daughter. Connie Hoggatt and family. Dennis and Jess Ekker flew to Nalarita on business last week. Dc Mar Eggbert, a former resident, was in Hanksville on business last week from his home in Salt Lake. He has purchased some uranium claims in the Shoot-A-Ring area. Linda Westenskow returned with her sister. Patsy Ras-mussen, Ras-mussen, from Salt Lake last week to spend a few days with her sister. Sherry Ekker. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Hunt accompanied their son, Kar-min, Kar-min, to Salt Lake Sunday where he was to undergo major eye surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hunt are the parents of a 7 lb. 14 oz. baby born March 22 at the I. W. Allen Hospital in Moab. He has been named Reo Glen. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Reo Hunt, and Jan's mama in provo. He has an older brother and sisiter awaiting his arrival home. Friends of Herbert and Duella Weber accompanied them to the Manti Temple March 22 where the Webers' marriage was solemnized. Mr. and Mrs. Vail Hatt, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lloyd Hatt, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Price attended the wedding of their nephew, Steve Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dyle Williams. Steve wed Tery Tracy in a ceremony performed at Wayan, Idaho. Sieve's mothers the daughter of the late Frank Hatt and Mrs. Ruby Hatt. Cammie and Robyn Price also attended. Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood Albrecht and children were in Hanksville visiting Ranae's sisiter, Cheryle Avery and family who are visiting here from their home in Idaho with her mother, Mrs. Ida Weber. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ekker, Grand Junction, and granddaughters grand-daughters visited Edna Ekker Robison and other family members while at their ranch at Robbers Roost.
