Show Possibilities for Rodeo Discussed by Committee The Rodeo Committee met Tuesday evening and briefly discussed the possibilities of connecting this year's Can-yonlands Can-yonlands Rodeo with the Powell Centennial celebration. celebra-tion. The suggestion to combine the two events was made by Mayor Winford Bunce and it will be discussed in depth next Wednesday night when the Rodeo Committee meets again. It was decided to invite in-vite Chamber of Commerce, County and City representatives representa-tives to the meeting to lay plans for the event which is scheduled for June 13, 14. The Rodeo Committee also al-so opened sealed bids from rodeo stock contractors. Eight contractors in a radius ra-dius of 500 miles were contacted con-tacted and invited to submit bids to Grand County's rodeo. ro-deo. They were also invited to appear at the Tuesday night meeting if they were interested in putting on this year's rodeo. The only bid that was received re-ceived was that from D. A. "Swanny" Kerby of Salt Lake City. Kerby also appeared ap-peared at Tuesday night's meeting to discuss his bid with rodeo officials. His bid was approved by the committee. com-mittee. Kerby has new, wild Mexican bulls to enter into Canyonlands Rodeo this year and new performers. The Rodeo Committee attempting to make arrangements arrange-ments with Bluff officials ia regard to holding their Indian In-dian festival in conjunction with Canyonlands Rodeo in this location or making it on a date when the public here could throw their entire support sup-port behind Bluff on a non-conflicting non-conflicting date.
