Show Savings Bond Total for Feb. Reported Here Uthans invested more cf their savings in U. S. Savings Sav-ings Bonds during the first two months of 1969 than in any similar period since World War II according to. sales, figures released Jiy State Savings Bonds Director Direc-tor Kathleen Meikle to Robert Rob-ert A Dalton, Manager of The First Security Bank at Moab, Grand County savings bonds chairman. "February' sales of E. and H Bonds and Savings Notes of $2,239,048 brought the state's two - months to $47 million, up five per cent over 1968", Mrs. Meikle said. "Sales of 'Freedom Shares' (U. S. Savings Notes), which pay five per cent interest compounded semi - annually when held to maturity of four and one-half one-half years, reached a high of $317,892 - up 41 per cent above last year." Chairman Dalton reported that Grand County's share of the February sales was $2,062, bringing the two-month two-month total to $15,992. "Plans for the 'Share in America '09' bond drive ara .going forward under the direction di-rection of State Campaign Chairman D. R. Lucck, Area Manager of Western Electric Company" Director Meikle continued. "The campaign Will be highlighted bp special publicity during the April-May April-May period. Payroll Savings campaigns are already in the planning stagt in a number num-ber of Utah companies." |
