Show I Robbers Roost rancher died j following heart attack j . I Arthur Ekker, 67, lifelong cattle j rancher and for 40 years the owner j of the historic Robber's Roost, died I July 25, 1978, at St. Mary's J Hospital, brand Junction, after j suffering a heart attack, j He was born May 25, 1911 in Hanksville to Cornelius and Edna I Gibbons Ekker and married Hazel Biddlecome on Feb. 15, 1930 in I Price. She died Jan. 9, 1969, and on I March 28, 1970, he married Lela Wilcox Anderson in Las Vegas, J Nev. She survives, j Other survivors include four children: Eddyjo Ekker, La Cres- centa, Ca.( Mrs. Bert (Evelyn) Shaw, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Arthur (Gaye) Thurston, Cedar City, and I A. C. Ekker, Green River. Another I son, Isaac Emge Ekker, was born J and died shortly thereafter in Richfield in 1942. Arthur was a master mason and i long-time member of Orient Lodge No. 15, F&AM, Green River, and was also an active member of the I Southeastern Utah Cattlemen's I Assocation. j Funeral services will be held in j Green River on Saturday, July 29, i with burial in the Elgin Cemetery. |
